Kerry started her teaching journey in San Diego at Point Loma Nazarene University and then went to San Diego State University for graduate school. She received both a multi-subject teaching credential and a Learning Disabled Credential. She began teaching with San Diego Unified School District for five years and then Mt. Helix Academy, where she taught 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade for seven years. Kerry has had years of providing home-school pods for grades K-8. She specializes in utilizing the Riggs program, which supports students in reading, writing, spelling, and thinking. She works with preschool through 8th-grade students, teaching language arts skills in an explicit, systematic, and evidence-based approach. Kerry is experienced in supporting students with ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, nonverbal learning disabilities, executive functioning, anxiety and processing deficits. Kerry loves the freedom of integrating programs into her educational therapy curriculum and loves watching her students grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Kerry considers teaching and working with students a gift and enjoys every moment with her students.
Angela is an education specialist who has been helping students achieve their full learning potential for over 15 years. Her journey began in hospital settings where she provided psycho-educational support to students of all ages undergoing medical procedures. She used mindfulness and breathing practices to reduce student anxiety and stress. In 2008, Angela earned her master’s in early education and taught at learning centers for over five years. She also works closely with families to develop at-home routines to guide students learning and behavior. During the pandemic, Angela became a kindergarten pod teacher in a home setting integrating social-emotional curriculum and individualized support on academics. She obtained certifications in multi-sensory approaches to teaching early math and literacy skills as well as yoga and mindfulness. Angela is trained in Orton-Gillingham, Lindamood-Bell's Seeing Stars program, and in Peg Dawson's Executive Functioning program. Angela is a mom of an energetic and curious 5-year-old boy. During her free time, she loves to hike, explore nature and farms with her son, take road trips, and explore California's beautiful coastline.
Tracy earned her Master’s in Humanities Creative Writing, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education Studies, and an Associate of Science degree in Early Childhood Education. Additionally, she has a TEFL Diploma in teaching English as a second language. She brings a vast amount of experience as a Learning and Inclusion Specialist in a Special Education setting and has extensive training in Executive Functioning Skills, Barton, Wilson Reading and Language Program, Orton-Gillingham, Handwriting Without Tears, Move to Learn, ILS, and Excellence in Writing. She is also trained in all Lindamood-Bell programs. She loves nothing more than helping her students learn how they best and supporting them in achieving their own unique goals through her highly adaptive and creative approach. She is an adjunct college professor and has been an educational therapist for over ten years.
Hayley received her master’s degree in Museum Education and teaching credential from Bank Street College of Education in New York City. Growing up in a family with educators, she knew early on that she wanted to work with kids to help them reach their academic potential. Her career has been focused on elementary education, teaching at some of the top private schools in New York City and Los Angeles. In 2017, she moved to San Diego with her family and she now calls San Diego home. Hayley served as a literacy specialist at a local private school for three years and she is trained in Orton-Gillingham, Handwriting Without Tears, and the Core Knowledge Language Arts curriculum. She has also been trained in Peg Dawson's Executive Functioning program. Hayley specializes in working with K-8th grade students with dyslexia, dysgraphia, ASD, executive functioning deficits, and anxiety. Hayley is committed to finding ways to personalize the student experience to allow her students to reach their potential and feel successful. Hayley lives in San Diego with her husband and two daughters. They love hiking, going to the beach together, trying new restaurants and exploring with their beautiful city.
Jennifer has a deep understanding of neurologically-divergent learners. As a homeschool teacher to 2e students during the pandemic, Jennifer ardently customized curriculum and teaching methods specific to the diverse learners with Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dysgraphia, Sensory Processing Disorder, ADHD, Nonverbal Learning Disabilities, and Anxiety. A philomath by nature, she geeks out over cognitive differences of thinking and learning, and consequently became a certified teacher of the Arrowsmith Program. Jennifer Is trained in the Orton-Gillingham method, has an IDA-accredited Dyslexia Certificate from the Dyslexia Training Institute, is a Dyscalculia Specialist, and participated in Peg Dawson's Executive Functioning program. She received her BA from UCLA and is working towards a M.Ed emphasizing in Cognition in Education. Jennifer is also a member of the InLight institute, an organization focused on improving the mental wellness of children. In her spare time, you will find her spending time with her family, teaching fitness, gardening, volunteering at school, cooking, baking, or basking in the sensational North County sunshine. Jennifer is committed to tailoring explicit, systematic, multisensory educational experiences that allow students to not only show her what they know, but to also become independent, engaged, lifelong learners. Stacy is an experienced Education Specialist with a 22-year focus on supporting students with Dyslexia and enhancing reading comprehension. She began her journey after graduating from UC Davis and earning her Multiple Subject Credential from California State University San Marcos (CSUSM). Following six years of teaching across upper and lower elementary grades, Stacy pursued further education, earning a Master of Arts in Reading Education and a Reading Specialist Credential from San Diego State University (SDSU). Stacy is highly trained in evidence-based reading programs, including Lindamood-Bell’s Seeing Stars and Visualizing and Verbalizing. Additionally, she has received training from the Institute for Multi-Sensory Education (IMSE) in Phonological Awareness, Orton-Gillingham Comprehensive Plus, and Morphology Plus. In her free time, Stacy enjoys birdwatching with her son, exploring both local spots and renowned birding destinations worldwide.
Shivani has spent nine years in a private educational therapy practice working with children and adults with ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, Executive Functioning, and Auditory Processing Disorder. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Linguistics with a minor in Counseling and Social Change. Shivani also earned certifications in TESL/TEFL, the Interdisciplinary Study of Bilingualism, and Transcultural Communication from San Diego State University, along with a Certificate in Educational Therapy from the Indian Association of Educational Therapists. Currently, she is pursuing a Master of Arts in Educational Therapy at California State University-Northridge. Beyond her academic achievements, Shivani has volunteered with San Diego Refugee Tutoring and interned with the U.S. Department of State, focusing on their Children, Youth, and Families Portfolio. In her free time, she enjoys dancing, traveling, reading, hiking, and watching movies. Shivani is deeply passionate about educational therapy and dedicated to supporting students with learning disabilities.
Margot began tutoring 11 years ago and has loved helping students find joy in their ever since. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from USC in 2022 with a degree in Biomedical Engineering. After graduating, Margot spent a year teaching 7th and 8th grade math at a distinguished STEM school. During this experience, Margot received extensive experience working with students of all learning abilities. She provides tutoring support for middle and high school students in all sciences through Physics and math through Calculus. Darby is also a fluent Spanish speaker and enjoys supporting students needing Spanish and computer programming support. Margot is participating in research focusing on genetic engineering at UCSD as she prepares to begin her Ph.D. program. She enjoys hiking, finding new places to run, and volunteering with shelter dogs in her free time.
